Hatha is a great place to start if you are new to yoga or want to improve what you already know. It is a slow paced class that focuses on asanas (postures), breathing techniques and meditation. It gives you time to focus and learn the movements correctly, and is designed to release tension and stress in the mind and body. Hatha is the basis of all contemporary yoga practices.


Vinyasa, also called Flow, stands opposite to Hatha and focuses on the smooth way that poses flow into each other to make a sequence. It uses breath as an anchor to move from one pose to the next, with each inhale and exhale acting as a cue. A typical example of a flow sequence that people recognise is the ‘sun salutation’. All levels can benefit and learn from this class.


Yin yoga is a quiet and simple practice, but not necessarily an easy practice. Yin yoga works deeply into our body. It targets our deepest tissues of the body, our connective tissues — ligaments, joints, bones, and the deep fascia networks of the body — rather than the muscles.


Ashtanga focuses on a systematic sequence of flowing postures linked together with breath. It is an athletic flow combining strength, flexibility and stamina for a complete practice. A class will comprise of four main parts: an opening sequence, one of six main series, a back-bending sequence and a finishing sequence. It is suitable for all levels as variations will be given for every posture. 


Prenatal yoga uses postures, breathing and meditation to help ease pregnancy, delivery and the after effects of birth. The classes creating strength, focus, flexibility and awareness through a gentle practice designed especially for the pregnant womens' needs. The classes provide a safe and peaceful environment for expectant mothers and can help to alleviate many of the discomforts of pregnancy such as heartburn, nausea, constipation, varicose veins, swelling, back pain and sciatica.
